HT3i 3-way tower speakers

The HT3i is our smallest 3-way tower, standing on a footprint of only 7" (width) by 11" (depth). These speakers need only a small area, yet produce a very large sound stage.

Compact and dynamic, yet not overshadowed for its size, the HT3i in our standard cherry finish comes with magnetic grilles on hidden mounts for a clean look. The new crossover was designed by Danny Richie.

Slim looking and stylish, with shocking mids and highs; lows tuned to 29 Hz. The HT3 was reviewed by Stereomojo.

Frequency range

15 Hz – 40 kHz · log scale
In-room response down to 25 Hz; port tuned to 29 Hz; crossover at 2.5 kHz.

Construction

  • Solen capacitors with a Solen plus Sonicap stack on the midrange, Solen 16 gauge inductors, Sonicap Gen II by-pass capacitors
  • Teflon-coated silver wire
  • Cardas lead-free silver solder
  • 3/4" MDF sides and back, 1.25" bracing, top and bottom plate
  • CNC-cut 3/4" MDF front baffle with magnetic grilles
  • Finished in real wood veneer; bases in satin black with standard speaker spikes installed
  • Veneer upgrades: birdseye maple, ebony

Finish

We apply a labour-intensive, multi-layered (6 coats!) lacquer finish, hand-polished to a vivid satin sheen that brings out the most intricate details of our standard real wood veneers. Assembled by hand, finished by hand, applied by hand: only the highest quality control standards are maintained from start to finish.

Measured

Responses were taken at 1 meter. Impedance: an easy 8 ohm load.

Off-axis horizontal measurements were taken at 10, 20, 30 and 40 degrees. At 40 degrees off axis the tweeter is down only 4 dB at 20 kHz.

Off-axis vertical measurements were taken at 1 meter, each one a 4" vertical adjustment, along with an unsmoothed spectral decay plot.
